The great Marshall McLuhan again!

  From time to time, wrongly attributed to John  - this aphorism from Yoko first appeared in Grapefruit - her wonderful book of aphorisms, poems, instructions and what have you; she later used the quote in her song Now Or Never from the superb Apple Records album - Approximately Infinite Universe .

In the same spirit as the Emerson quote comes this piece of deep thinking from the Finns: Everywhere you go, you always take the weather with you.

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not - Ralph Waldo Emerson. I have often placed this quote on my bulletin board at home or an office. It's closely aligned to the earlier Buckaroo Banzai idea - wherever you go - there you are, and the next post - coming soon...

To know that we know what we know, and that we do not know what we do not know, that is true knowledge.   Confucius There are a few versions of this quote kicking about on the interweb but I love this one. I first discovered it in Henry David Thoreau's Walden and therefore I'm sticking with it!

The movie, radio, and television: classroom without walls  (Marshall McLuhan) He came up with some memorable phrases about the global village and the medium being the message but this one is my favourite; writing when the computer age was yet to bloom, he understood how the power of mass media had the ability to transform education. We're still playing intellectual catch up with this amazing man and his thoughts!
